Formative Assessment Process for Differentiating Instruction
The formative assessment process can be understood as a continuous and fluid set of actions used to make decisions about instruction that result in the highest possible achievement by each student. Without this process, meaningful differentiation that improves achievement is impossible.
The formative assessment process produces evidence of student learning that can be analyzed individually by a classroom teacher to differentiate instruction but is also essential to school teams engaging in a systematic problem-solving process and lesson study.
